The UEFA Champions League is the pinnacle of European football. Here, the best club teams compete for the 73.5 centimetre tall and 8.5 kilogramme trophy.

Since the new format (from 2024/25), 36 instead of 32 teams participate. The competition is played in a league system in one large table, instead of in eight groups as before. At the draw, teams are distributed into four pots with nine teams each. Each team receives two opponents from each pot. Every team plays against eight different opponents with four home and four away matches.

The most successful Champions League coach is Carlo Ancelotti with five titles.
